It's Not How You Start!!!

I have been in the ministry for over 37 years and I have seen a lot.  I have seen people who started out well but they never finished.

I have seen ministers who started out well but their ending was disappointing.

When I was a kid just starting to preach there was a preacher who was always being used. Had great talent preaching and singing.  Seemed like he was always doing revivals and doing a great work for God.   After being used by God and even pastoring a very successful church he one day stepped out of the ministry.  Why I don't know but what ever reason is not for me to judge but just to remind myself that The calling of God are without repentance (Romans 11:29)

Many of us have had friends and family that started out great but never finished the race that was before them. What happened?  What took place?  We may or may not know.  But one thing I do know is what Solomon once said, "For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again (Proverbs 24:16)

This one thing I do know is that I am the comeback kid!!!  You see it is not in the falling down, it is in the getting up.

I have another friend who is a great revivalist and an awesome singer and preacher.  A few years ago he went through a horrible divorce and people had him gone, done, and over with.  But praise God he was a come back kid.  He took Proverbs 24:16 to heart and he is preaching with a great anointing than ever before.

God know our faults and flaws. He knows our strength and weaknesses.  He didn't call us because we were perfected.  He called us because He believed in us.

God is not as concerned on how we start as much as He is concerned on how we will end.  Don't give up, don't listen to what others say, and remember your calling comes from a higher realm than where you are walking now.

Let our testimony be the same as Paul's, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)

Divine Touch Ministries - The Power of Multiplication (Part 3)

In the past blog we talked about the first principle of Multiplication.  The fear of the Lord.  Meaning we need to have the same aspect of sin that God does.

The second principle of multiplication is know the comfort of the Holy Ghost.

The Greek word translated “Comforter” or “Counselor”) is parakletos. This form of the word is unquestionably passive and properly means “one called to the side of another,” with the secondary notion of counseling or supporting him. This Counselor, or Paraclete, is God the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity. He is a personal being who indwells every believer.

During His earthly ministry, Jesus had guided, guarded, and taught His disciples; but now He was going to leave them. The Spirit of God would come to the disciples and dwell in them, taking the place of their Master's literal presence. Jesus called the Spirit “another Comforter”—another of the same kind. The Spirit of God is not different from the Son of God in essence, for both are God.

During the Old Testament age, the Spirit of God would come on people and then leave them. God's Spirit departed from King Saul (1 Samuel 16:14;18:12).
David, when confessing his sin, asked that the Spirit not be taken from him (Psalm 51:11).

But when the Spirit was given at Pentecost, He came to God's people to remain with them forever. We may grieve the Holy Spirit, but He will not leave us.

As Jesus said in Matthew 28:20, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” How is He with us when He is in heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father? He is with us by His Spirit (the Helper—theParakletos).

To have the Holy Spirit as our Paraclete is to have God Himself indwelling us as believers. The Spirit teaches us the Word and guides us into truth. He reminds us of what He has taught so that we can depend on His Word in the difficult times of life.

The Spirit works in us to give us His peace (John 14:27), His love (John 15:9–10), and His joy (John 15:11).

He is a comfort our hearts and minds in a troubled world. The power of the indwelling Paraclete gives us the ability to live by the Spirit and “not gratify the desires of the sinful flesh” (Galatians 5:16). The Spirit can then produce His fruit in our lives (Galatians 5:22–23) to the glory of God the Father. What a blessing to have the Holy Spirit in our lives as our Paraclete—our Comforter, our Encourager, our Counselor, and our Advocate!

When we walk in the comfort of the Holy Ghost we are walking trusting in God in every area. When you walk in the fear of the Lord you will walk in the comfort of the Holy Ghost.

If you are ever going to be successful serving God you have to look as sin as God looks at sin and know that God will never leave you or forsake you. When you trust in the comfort of the Holy Ghost there is no room for doubt and disbelief.

Faith is always found in reverence and trust. Multiplication of the kingdom of God is found in seeing what God sees and living that way then trusting He always has your back and His best for you.

When this starts taking place in your life you will surely multiply.

God's Multiplication Process Revealed (Part 2)

In the past Blog we were talking how to multiply in the realm of the Kingdom of God.

The first multiple of this multiplication is
The Fear of the Lord.

Unfortunately The Church has lost its fear for God.

First we have to understand what it means to walk in the fear of the Lord?

I often hear people explain the fear of the Lord as a mere respect or reverence. But the Bible uses the word fear at least 300 times in reference to God, so we make a mistake when we downplay it.

The subject becomes even more mysterious when we read something like

1 John 4:18 that says that "perfect love casts out all fear." How can we fear God while he expels all fear?

Scripture is full of examples of how fearing God is a positive rather than a negative thing.

For example in Genesis 42:18, Joseph wins his brothers' trust when he declares he is a God-fearing man. It was because the midwives feared God that they obeyed him instead of the authorities by sparing the Hebrew babies

(Exodus 1:17). Pharaoh brought disaster on his nation because he did not fear God

(Exodus 9:29-31). Moses chose leaders to help him on the basis that they feared God and wouldn't take bribes

(Exodus 18:21) and told the Hebrews that God met with them in a terrifying display of his power so that they wouldn't sin

(Exodus 20:20). The Mosaic Law cites fear of God as a reason to treat the disabled and elderly well

(Leviticus 19:14, 32). And lest you think this is only an Old Testament idea,

Note that Jesus states this stronger than anyone when he says, "Don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28).

And Paul says to work toward complete holiness because we fear God (2 Corinthians 7:1).

So it's clear from these passages, that fearing God is good because it saves us from caving into our own sinful nature. That's why hearing someone is God-fearing actually makes us trust that person more. If they fear God, they are more likely to keep their word and treat others with kindness. In fact, Romans 3, a classic chapter on sin, says that our chief sin is that we "have no fear of God at all" (Romans 3:18).

When we expect God to balance the stress of the world, we reduce him to the world's equal …. As I walk with the Lord, I discover that God poses an ominous threat to my ego, but not to me. He rescues me from my delusions, so he may reveal the truth that sets me free. He casts me down, only to lift me up again. He sits in judgment of my sin, but forgives me nevertheless. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but love from the Lord is its completion.

And, of course, the ultimate example of fear and perfect love working together is Jesus Christ. He warned us at every turn to fear God, not men—and he confirmed that in everything about his life and death. He spoke lovingly but frankly to all and didn't mince words when people needed to face their sin and repent. But he also demonstrated love beyond human understanding when he lived out his words, "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends."

(John 15:13)." With love like that, what is left to fear but God?

The fear of the Lord is to view sin like God views sin. That is the true power of fearing the Lord.

In my next blog we will view the second part of the equation of multiplication in the Kingdom of God.

God's Power of Multiplication (Part 1)

I have found the key to multiplication in the kingdom of God. In every walk of faith there has to be a multiplying factor or you are doing nothing but sitting. The factor of multiplication is found throughout the Bible.

In Deuteronomy we find a powerful verse that God says he will multilply a 1000 fold. That’s right a 1000 fold. Duet 1:11 May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand-fold more than you are and bless you, just as He has promised you! God counts by thousands. Did you know that? Of all the meaningful numbers in the Bible, the number 1,000 is one of the most significant. In fact, the word thousand or thousands appears 521 times in your Bible! It's used to indicate more than just a literal quantity of something.

It represents God's unlimited power and abundance. For example...God owns "the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10). He has commanded His covenant of blessing "to a thousand generations" (1 Chronicles 16:15). There's just something special about the number 1,000 in God's spiritual economy.

As I was studying this principle, I came across a hidden nugget in Psalm 144, a psalm I've probably read a thousand times (there's that word again!). Right in the middle, we find King David speaking a blessing upon the people of Israel. It is a "thousandfold" blessing. David asks for the Lord's help and favor in order...That our barns may be full, supplying all kinds of produce; that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our field...(Psalm 144:13)

So lets get back to the mystery of multiplying. I know that people usually get their eyes on money when you start talking about multiplication but it is much deeper than that. You see I need a multiplication of souls, I need multiplication in healing and deliverance, I need multiplication in the ministry and in my household and you do too.

So hear is the KEY!!! To walk in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost.

In my next blog I will break these two concepts down to where multiplication can take place in your life and ministry.

This is It

After much prayer and seeking the will of God, Rhonda and I have decided to go back on the road as revivalists.  I know that many think how hard can it be? If it was just Rhonda and I it would be easier but with the triplets it will be a challenge.

For the past 5 years we have been pastoring a rural church in Westville, OK.  We love the people and N.E. OK.  The past five years have been a wonderful experience.  The church has been gracious to let us go do revivals, mission trips, and summer ministry trips across the U.S. and the world.

So now Rhonda, Colton, Faith, Rebekah, and myself are ready to take the word of God being demonstrated by miracles to the Nations.

We have currently been building our mission headquarters in Mena, AR.  We purchased 4 acres six years ago and decided this past fall to start getting things ready for the new area that God will be taking us.

Recently we were doing a revival in Calera, OK outside of Durant, OK and I felt the gentle tugging of the Holy Spirit whispering to me that now is the time for us to take the supernatural power of God to America and to the world.

With us being off the road for over 5 years there is much to do to get back into the swing as revivalists.  Old relationships to foster as well as new ones.

Taking this step of faith has been difficult but there is only one thing to do for now.  TRUST GOD!!!
